Physical Loss

I say and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the LORD. 2 Corinthians 5:8

As many of us mourn the loss of the physical presence of another loved one who has gone to be with the LORD, we, as Christians, also take great comfort in knowing that the physical loss is only temporary.  As David prayed for his son, by Bathsheba, and sought the LORD to spare him, when the child passed, he was comforted to know that one day he would see this son again.

Christians are saddened when one they love is taken but we also rejoice in knowing that they are now in the presence of the LORD we love and are loved by those who have passed from our presence.  For they are not dead, but alive, because YAHWEH is not the GOD of the dead but of the living.  We know that if we continue in the faith that we, like David, will see them again, they will not come back to us, but we shall go to them.

Another has passed today, along with many others in this world, and the one, I know, I mourn the loss of, and I remember the sweet smile that greeted me when I came into her presence.  A smile that said welcome and a smile of peace.  Yes I miss her already and will, in my own way grieve for the loss.  Many across this world are doing the same, as they mourn the loss of a loved one or a good friend, and many are devastated that they do not know what has become of the person they mourn.  I grieve for these who have no faith or do not know what faith the one who passed had.

GOD did not leave us here to suffer forever with the evil of this world, but gives us time to make a difference and to get to know HIM, then we are reminded that life is only a second in the space of eternity and then we move on, some to glory and some not.  Death brings us to the realization that we are also going to pass on and, it should drive us to the LORD, or at least, cause us to question where we will go after this body is dead.  Many will say that there is just this life and nothing after that, some will say that they are good enough to get to heaven on their own merits.  It must be a cold shock to those who think and believe this way when they are confronted by the LIVING GOD and are asked to give an account, are found wanting.  They will be there in front of the LORD having rejected HIM for a lie, and unable to fix it because they gave up those chances while they were here on earth.  What eternal heartbreak there is for one who has heard the Gospel to have rejected it and perished.  To spend eternity in darkness without GOD and suffering has to be the ultimate betrayal of the devil.

I want to spare you this eternal hell by telling you about the Only One who can save you from this and that is Jesus Christ, who being in the form of a man and being GOD, took on All the sin of the world that we might have eternal life.  You may ask what does this cost?  Nothing, for it is Free.  Today is the day of Salvation and it is offered to you as a free gift and all you have to do is accept it.  The LORD asks us to turn from our sin, ask for forgiveness and trust in the All Sufficient work of Christ for the covering of our sins.  In return the LORD gives us the seal of the HOLY SPIRIT, and helps us with the rest of our life to live in peace and the assurance of an eternity with HIM and others, who have gone on before us, in a place where there is no sorrow or pain or tears.

If you want what I have described above, just take a moment and call out to GOD and say to HIM that you understand that you are a sinner and need a savior.  Ask HIM to forgive you of your sin and your rejection of HIM and to come and live in you.  Ask HIM to change your life and make you whole.  If you do this with a true heart then the LORD will Save you, for HE says that those who call on HIM HE will in no way cast out.

I must tell you that this is the beginning of the rest of your life and there will be trials and tribulation, but the LORD will help you through.  Your faith will be tested so that you can see how far you have progressed, and what needs to be worked on.  If you truly meant your confession of sin and wanting the LORD to be LORD of your life, the enemy will try to tell you that you cannot be saved and that you haven’t been, this goes with the territory.  Jesus told us to count the costs and that is what I am telling you, but the reward is everlasting life with One who Loves you.  I plead with you to seek the LORD while there is time, knowing the end Christians seek to give a word that the LORD will use to save one more.  GOD is not willing that any should be lost, and is not happy at the loss of any soul.  HE loves all of mankind and is not sitting with a club to knock us upside the head but with open arms to give us a hug, just like we do with our own children.

Jesus Loves You!!!

Until next time, thanks for looking.   al

Great post! With this perspective, Paul could be confident and encouraged, even in his period of mortality. Paul focused not on present but on future conditions, not on the seen but the unseen. To live this way is to live by faith, not by sight. It is to live in light of ultimate rather than immediate realities, to be obedient to God’s commands despite the hardships that obedience produces. Such was Paul’s life. If the choice were his, he would have seized the opportunity to depart this pilgrimage life and be at home with the Lord, but he had a work to do here first. How we all must follow Paul’s example.
